Last year (2023), the Salt Lake County Treasurer’s office was able to bill out $80 million dollars less than if we were just average in the state! The amount billed to fund the budgets submitted has a component that varies with the Treasurer’s collection rate over the previous 5 years. The statewide average collection rate is about 94%. In Salt Lake County, the collection rate is about 98%. That 4% better than average translates to $80 million dollars not billed to the taxpayers of the county. We in the Salt Lake County Treasurer’s office are very proud of this fact.
I will continue to go above and beyond the statutory minimum requirements in order to maintain this exceptionally high collection rate. Disruption could cost the taxpayers of the county 10’s of millions of dollars if the collection rate dips by even 1%. Stay the course with fiscal competence and knowledge to keep your taxes from increasing instead of risking on the job training. Vote Phil Conder for Salt Lake County Treasurer
